What type of people worship at CCUCC?
The people in our church are a diverse bunch.  You will find a wide variety of perspectives, professions, and looks on any given Sunday. We are young and old, gay and straight, singles and families, a variety of colors, and everyone in between.  God’s love is for all people and our community lives into that.

What is the service like?
The service typically lasts about an hour and includes prayer, silence, hymnody, readings, a sermon, and a free-will offering. We celebrate Communion on the first Sunday of each month and all are welcome (visitors and children included) to participate.  After worship, we have coffee and fellowship in Brewster Hall. All are welcome.

Although most people would call our worship style “traditional”, a variety of music (from organ to piano to harmonica to guitar and banjo) and inclusion of wisdom from other faiths help to set it apart.  Hymn singing and choral music are typically included.  The worship service is a time for centering around God’s presence, connection with one another, and inspiration to move into the world as an embodiment of God’s all-inclusive love.  Our Christian focus embraces honor for other faith traditions.   In the sermons you will find calls both to quiet contemplation and to social action, based in Scripture and the teachings of Jesus.   Communion is celebrated with non-alcoholic grape juice and bread with a gluten-free option.  All people are welcome to participate.   Babies and children are welcome in worship, with space and seating at the back of the sanctuary for parents who may wish to accommodate their needs.

Is childcare available?
By appointment.  Please call the church office by Friday 1 p.m. to arrange it.

What should I wear?
The congregation dresses informally.  You will see a bit of everything – “Sunday best”, jeans and shirts, “business casual”, and shorts and flip-flops in warm weather.  It’s completely up to you to dress to your level of comfort.  We look forward to seeing YOU, not what you’re wearing!

Who can I contact for more information?
