WHO WE ARE
We are an enthusiastic, loving and inclusive faith community of people at various places on our spiritual journeys. We are always ready to welcome new voices to join us as we answer our call to the ministry of radical inclusiveness, advocating for social justice, and a love for Christ and one another. We bring our questions and doubts as we joyfully explore together new ways of understanding God and Jesus.
We are people of God’s extravagant welcome. Jesus didn’t turn people away, even those often rejected by others. We don’t intend to either. We are like a “company of strangers,” made family by the grace of God.
We listen for the still-speaking God. The United Church of Christ (UCC) is grounded in the ancient church of the New Testament and in historic streams that date back to the Pilgrims of New England and the German immigrants in colonial Pennsylvania. Today, God continues to form us through the people among us. We celebrate our common ground while honoring our differences. Why place a period where God has placed a comma?
We thank God by working for a just and generous world. Jesus taught about a realm of God that was one of love, justice, and peace. We see it not just in the life of Christ, but in the present as well. In truth, we long for its fulfillment in the future. In gratitude to God, we seek to root out injustice, standing in solidarity with those who are marginalized and oppressed, giving with a generosity that inspires, and caring for the earth.
