Upcoming Sermon

Join us for the sermon “Coming Out As Sacrament” by Reverend Steve Van Kuiken, Sunday, August 26th at 10:30 am.

“Coming out serves as a universal experience, thus a sacrament in which we are all welcome to participate. Our own coming out invites others to share their secret selves, to risk intimate disclosure. Historically, many individuals and groups have come out of hiding or anonymity to declare their unique identities, understandings, beliefs, and visions.”– Chris Glaser

Pride March

JOIN US AT PALOUSE PRIDE! Come participate with other Pullman UCC folk in the Pride March + Festival, this Saturday, 8/26, in Moscow. The march begins at 11:30 AM (come a little early and meet near the corner of Jefferson + 4th Streets). The festival, Noon – 4:00 PM, is at East City Park. Bring your families! It is especially significant when people of faith show up and stand up in solidarity with the LGBTQIA community!

Check out our beautiful signs that Jessie made!

Pride 2014: Extending Our Welcome!

Each year people and organizations around the Palouse come together to show support for LGBTQ brothers and sisters.  We have had a welcoming presence at the Parade and Festival for years in order to make sure everyone knows they don’t have to give up their spiritual lives when they come out!

We’d like to extend our welcome at the Palouse Pride Festival again this year, but we need your help to do this!  When a group of us participate, it is fun and a great way to meet and greet with all kinds of people at the festival, as well as tell them about the church.  Look for the church logo on the 2014 Pride T Shirt!  The walk is easy and at the festival we have a booth, with a canopy for shade and chairs for sittin’.  We need help during the following time periods.

Set up booth at East City Park:  9:00am to 11:00am.

Walk as a group representing CCUCC in the Pride Rally:  a group of us will convene at the starting point behind Safari Pearl, 3rd and Jackson in Moscow. (park on street, not in lot)  We have a few signs and banners but you are welcome to bring your own.

Table shifts:  11:00am to 4:00pm.

Clean up and teardown:  3:30-4:00pm  break down booth, help Chip load up his RAV4 and unload at church back in Pullman.

Sign up by indicating below!  Thanks!

Your witness to God’s extravagant welcome is important!

We had a great time at Pride again this year.

Community LGTB

Community LGBT is a group for support, discussion, and advocacy for LGBT people and allies.  We band together to affirm that LGBT people are priceless in God’s eyes, and so we work for their equal treatment in our society and world.  Instead of religion being the liberating thing it can be, we feel like it has made life more difficult (ie, a living hell at times) for LGBT people.  It doesn’t have to be this way.  We value questions, accept people where they are, and encourage one another to live honestly, in community with one another. Note:  This group is on hiatus until the spirit moves a few of us to gather again.

The song “Same Love” by Seattle rapper Macklemore and Ryan Lewis says it all! (or a lot of it…)
