CCUCC Choir Cantata

Sunday, December 14 at 10:30

Sheila Converse and the choir, along with accompanist Kathy Spencer will begin a very “Christmas-y” Sunday at CCUCC with their rendition of “The Christmas Cantata” by Lena McLin.   Don’t miss it!

A WORD ABOUT THE COMPOSER— Lena McLin, the composer of today’s “Christmas Cantata,” was born in 1928. She was an African-American female composer and teacher. She was a childhood friend of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and helped to launch the careers of singer and actor Mandy Patinkin; Metropolitan Opera star Mark Rucker; jazz singers Maggie Brown and Kim English; and rhythm and blues artist Robert “R” Kelly. It is a joy to share her music during this Christmas season.
