We have Faith, In Pullman

Join us this coming Sunday, October 28  at our regular worship time, 10:30 a.m., as we gather for about 15 minutes, then are sent out to serve the community together.  We have a great time, there are different kinds of projects for all ages, and all of them make a difference– but only with your presence!  We’ve planned the following projects, so choose one you’d like to participate in, and come with some friends!

1) Sing-a-long at Bishop Place Apartments Social Room (join Sheila, Kathy, and others for hymns and inspirational songs)

2) Leaf Raking for some people who would appreciate the help!  We have a number of homes to go to, depending on how many choose to participate. (dress warmly, bring rakes if you have ’em.)

3)  At Church:  Make & Take Meals-  Here at the church a group led by Carol Spurling will be making some food and preparing portions.  Then, the delicious food will be delivered.  A great opportunity for a nice visit!

4)  At Church:  Card Making for young and old.  We’ll make some cards to take with the meals, and also a variety of other cards to let people know we are thinking of them.

Extras, in case of horrible weather:  Assemble school kits for Church World Service;  Sort caps and lids for our Peace Mosaic project.

How to prepare:  Come with appropriate clothing for the project you choose.  Come with a smile.  Come without your own to-do list (think of this one as God’s).  Come ready to make new friends as we do service together!

Bring your friends.  Everyone is welcome! (and we’ll need all the help we can get!)

As the old UCC bumper sticker says:

“To believe is to care.  To care is to do.”

September 30 was the first of our monthly service Sundays, through which we proclaim “we have FAITH, IN Pullman!”  Approximately 90 of us scattered around Pullman (and into the basement of our church) to participate in a variety of worthwhile service projects.  Check out the photos below for a glimpse of what we did.  You can also join in the conversation and look at photos on our Facebook Group, Pullman UCC.
